Did You Ever Go There Alone?

36 x 36 x 1.5 inches — Mixed Media on Canvas

Movement and layered texture create a sense of anticipation in Did You Ever Go There Alone? Bold passages of color shift between openness and compression, reflecting the uncertainty that often accompanies independence.

Inspired by personal experience, the painting considers the universal act of stepping beyond familiarity. Rather than depicting a single moment, it explores the quiet courage required to move forward despite uncertainty. Built through repeated revisions and layered materials, the surface mirrors the evolving nature of memory itself. The work remains intentionally open, inviting viewers to recall the moments that helped define their own sense of confidence and self-reliance.
